William Henry Gates the third has become the wealthiest man on the planet from his knowledge of computers. Gates was able to build his fortune by developing his own computer programming language and soon after founded the Microsoft corporation.
William Gates was born in Seattle, Washington in 1955. He was interested in computer programming since the age of twelve. While in high school Gates was involved with computer programming projects. In 1975 Gates began writing BASIC and founded Microsoft with Paul Allen. During his junior year at Harvard Gates decided to quit college to work on Microsoft full time. Soon, Gates was writing operating systems for computers and in 1981 Gates wrote MS-DOS the operating system for the IBM computer. Gates began having Microsoft develop software for the IBM such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Encarta.
Today, Microsoft is the largest computer company in the history of the world. Bill Gates has become the wealthiest man in the world and his only complaint about life is that there’s only so much time in a day.
